The Charlotte Observer – “Sawyer possesses a detailed knowledge of not only CMS policy but schools in her district and the distinctive needs they have. That breadth of knowledge would serve District 4 well.”

Tom Tate, CMS Board of Education, District 4 – Carol Sawyer is one of the most knowledgeable people in Mecklenburg County concerning Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and the challenges we face as a school system. Additionally, she has been engaged in all matters CMS for seventeen years as a parent, a classroom volunteer, a member of the Equity Committee, an articulate and passionate advocate for all children, and an advisor for me. I am delighted and excited to support her candidacy for the District 4 seat on the Board of Education!

In Carol Sawyer, District 4 as well as CMS as a whole, will be served by a tireless advocate who already knows the big issues we face as well as the smaller issues that must be addressed no matter what decisions are made. She has also gotten to know administrators and staff members, principals, teachers, assistant teachers, social workers, current school board members, and others. And she knows well the issues we face in District 4. I cannot imagine a person better prepared than Carol to represent us.

Join me by supporting Carol and encouraging your family and friends — indeed, everyone you know throughout District 4 — to do so as well. Let’s get behind her and vote for Carol Sawyer on November 7, 2017! – Tom Tate retiring from the CMS Board of Education after completing three terms (12 years) as the District 4 representative.
